hey does anyone in CA have LT's with a catted y-pipe and passed smog?

Where I have been to do smog checks they don't have a manual with the engines exhaust diagram. All I see them do is take a quick 5 second peek underneath and a quick run through the engine bay for the visual part

My guess is that they are just seeing if cats are there.

My question is though if someone who doesn't really know about LS1 engines
sees long tube headers but has cats will they pass it? can you easily tell it is
illegal?

your best bet is to go to a little smog/auto shop. they are the ones who usually dont know a cat from thier ***.

i only have 1 cat, but im gonna run catless until i need to smog. you should be able to pass the sniffer. but if worst comes to worst bring an extra $50-$100 with you

I took my old 91 nissan 300zx to a corner smog shop and the guy didn't even do a visual
but he was about to close within 10 minutes after I arrived

The guy didn't even run my car on the roller well he just strapped it on but didn't actually
move it just maintained it at a higher rpm while in neutral

he was ordering chinese food over the phone while smogging my car

I heard of some places that when you say something like hey I know who can

make it pass his name is ben franklin. And the guy doing the smog will say
something like all ben franklin is going to do is stop me from reporting you.
don't know what approach you could do to bribe em if they notice something
is going on without getting yourself in to some legal ****
