Default what to do, 07 Z06

i just got me an 07 Z06, it's bone stock, and i'm loving it just the way it is at the moment. i'm taking it to the drag strip in few weeks and just mess around with 1/4's. i'm guessing it'll be around 11.5 or so (i hope).

i'm gonna eventually want to do some mods and stuff (why? b/c i have money to blow and it seems like fun).

1. i'm wanting to get new rear wheels and drag radials. i'm thinking BFG 315/35/17 on a 17x11 rim?

2. lingenfelter cold air intake, headers, thermostat, tuning

my question really is that i hear about having to get a "rear end" or breaking "half shafts" or needing new "fuel line", etc. i'm kind of a newb to terminology and not sure what all that means. is getting those mods gonna mess something else up? thanks in advance for your help!! (i've done searches on them but don't really understand much of the lingo being new to this sport and all)

If you hook with the radials you might break your rear, not sure how they are in the new vettes, but im sure they can handle more then the F bodies, as far as the intake/exhaust you could get a tune after, but you shouldnt need any new fuel lines or anything like that with just a few boltons

depends on how good of a driver you are as to what time youll run, if you run 11.8 consider yourself lucky. dont feel bad if your first run is 12.1, takes time to learn your car.

and before you do ANY mods, you needs to talk to the dealershipe you bought it about voiding warranties if you do certain mods.

Last, read A LOT on this site and you will understand what it means to "break a rear end" and the like and why....

cam and longtube headers are all you need. Being in Dallas, look up www.lgmotorsports.com since they have worked on several by now.

I don't know I'd do a whole lot. A brand new warranty is too hard for me to void. but sounds like a sick car. congrats.

With a great driver these cars are hitting low 11s already BONE STOCK, with Ranger hitting the 10s already with only drag radials. If you're worried about the warranty and breaking stuff, leave her alone and have fun with it as is. You'll be needing a 5-point roll bar anyways quicker than 11.50, so why not practice with what you have first.

Good luck and have fun!

****, if you have the money for a Z06 AND the ability to mod it, then it shouldn't be difficult to bring it back to stock if it breaks. In that case, the warranty is still valid.

If you put 17x11's (stock ZO6 size is 19x12) on a ZO6 I will personally come down there and step on your foot! Unless of course we're talking CCW lightweight drag wheels, then by all means!

Excuse me, but am I alone in thinking this thread is a sort of mental jerk off started by a teanage dreamer? - 2 posts, 1-st starting with "sup yall", supposedly coming from a 36y.o., who just "upgraded from 06 650i", and not knowing what size wheels his Z06 has?

if you run 17's with 315's you are going to be going with a smaller diamater wheel/tire combo throwing your gear ratio off and what not. if your going to do anything, find a wheel and tire size that matches the diamater of your stock 19x12's with whatever size tire is on it.

thats kinda what i was thinking. isn't ranger running those BFG 315s on his vette? i think (not entirely sure) that the stock diameter is 26.7 whereas those BFGs are 25.6. is that too much a difference?

no they are not, thats why im saying like get a 18 inch wheel or something and find a DR to fit it that will give you the same diamater as your stock tires on your 19X12's.
