Default Where to find a new shifter boot

The "leather" boot around my shifter lever in my 98' TA M6 is shot, so is the plastic square that seats within the boot that is designed to hold the boot in place....ya'll know what I'm talkin bout'?

Think a junk yard would have this, or should I go to a pontiac dealer, maybe an online source? Ya know, I wonder if they are all the same from 93-02, or if they changed in 98'? If they are the same, they shouldn't be hard to find. NE ideas would be great,....thanks guys!!!!

I just bought a new shifter boot for my T/A, it was from a non sponsor so I want say where I got it or the price, but you can e-mail me at
c_myta@yahoo.com and I'll tell you where you can get it, if your interested. It is a very good quality piece and very well priced.
Here is a pic of it.

There was a guy on LS1.com that was making the boot retainers out of stainless wire, much better than the factory plastic crap. I'd link you up, but I'm at work and don't have the site in my favorites here, don't remember what their new url is.

edit for linkage:

There is a guy on here doing the same thing, might even be the same guy. I bought one. The thing works awesome. Well worth what he was charging for it. when it snaps into place you'll know exactly what I mean. This thing is way better than the factory clip. No need to buy a new boot. I'll look for his post. I think its in the transmission section.

His user name here is farmer2. Great guy to deal with. PM him. The clip comes with instructions as well. Great buy.
