Default T-Tops with Hatch Cover?? Together??

My car did not come with a hatch cover,,the flap thing in the back that flips over the T-top well...(2nd owner here)

Im doing the TA Nats this year, and have found a cheap hatch cover to buy ,,,but my Tops are always back there,,,does that flap work with my tops in their holders? Im getting some mixed answers wo thought i would try here.

If will fold down against the carpet by the seats but if the T-tops are back there it won't cover them. Unless I have been putting in my tops wrong for the past year I can't see if fitting over.

I use the flap rarely also, because most time the tops are on the car they are coming off shortly after.

I read somewhere in one of the manuals or the little book that comes with the car that it could close by setting the tops differently, but I never spent the time to try to figure it out. It didn't seem possible so I didn't bother. That's probably why you have gotten mixed messages about this.

Haven't found the info, not that it was correct anyway, like I said before it didn't seem possible. If I find it I'll just start a new thread.
