Default Turn off auto headlights on 98 TA

I'am tired of my headlights turning on in the garage only to shut off after I'am outside where it is lighter. Any way, and I'am sure there is, to turn the auto headlight thing off? Thanks. Greg

you need a flat blade screw driver, about 1.5 inches of 18gauge wire or w/e fits, thats what i used, and your eyeballs.

find your defroster vent in the middle of your dash with the little red security light poking out of it. your ambient light sensor is directly below that. pry up CAREFULLY on the plastic dash plate from one side to the other. make it linier as to not put too much stress on either side, i got in a hurry and now i have spidercracks right above my speedo hump. anyways, once you get this up you will see the sensor, unplug it from the harness and throw the sensor in the glove box where you know it will be if you ever decide to put it back. strip both ends of the wire and twist them together and stick em in the harness where you just unplugged the sensor to complete the circut.

put your plastic dash peice back in carefully and drink beer.

k theres a light sensor on the dash, where the defroster air comes out. Take the sensor out and hook the 2 wires that connect to it together.

Maybe it has something to do with the intermittent, erratic function of this site's timing out SEARCH feature?

That's my guess anyway.

But it does look like a very simple mod/fix.

You can get the connector at any Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Tru-Value, motorcycle repair/parts store, or other store that carries car stereo parts. I don't know what the wire gauge is so you'd have to take a look before you buy or get a range of sizes.

You just open the connector, lay the two wires in the channels, and snap it shut.

It takes longer to explain it than it does to do it. Providing, of course, that you have the little daylight sensor.

I had one of those things to take power from the harness on the Harley to power a new high-mount brake light on the tour-pak.
