Default When should I be shifting?

Take a look at the mods in my sig. I will have the ls6 manifold and a ported TB on very soon as well. With the mods I have NOW, when should i shift when racing? 6000 or so? Also should I shift a tad higher when I get the manifold and TB on? maybe 6100?

I have about the same mods as you (look in my sig) I have my shift light set to go off at 5,800, but dont shift till around 6,000-6,200. Any higher you probably wont be making anymore power to justify not shifting. I have my limiter at 6,400. I highly recomend a Raptor shift light, this was one of my favorite mods. I never look at the tach anymore

Like said above, get a shift light.......the factory tach is a joke. I'd shift at 6100-6200, the stock cam is about out of steam at 6k.

I hear that. I usually shift at 5800 cause i dont have any justifiable mods that would even benefit me to shift higher. Your in the same ballpark, stock gauge shift around the 5800 mark, that is close if not around 6k anyways, thats all you need to get up to, our torque curves are straight lower so might as well go back down for more tq.

im definately getting a shift light. I want to look like my car is fast.
