Default 99 trans am *good deal?*

Well lets just say i finally decided to create a username. Ive been reading this board for awhile now.

What is this car worth?
99 trans am(black on black)
auto
t-tops
After market sound system...done excellent
Remote start
Functional ram air hood
Set of after market rims(forget what kind but very very nice)
Borla exhaust

Car just turned over 14k miles. It still has the new car smell and looks like it just came off the factory floor. Car is absolutely spotless. He is asking 16k flat for the car? Is that a good deal or should i just look for a 01/02 with 30-40k miles for a couple thousand more?

They are truly the real miles. Car is absolutly spotless. The only thing i dislike about the car is the auto. Kinda wanted a 6spd but this seems like too good of a deal to pass up(well to me atleast i need a new car)

Get a carfax regardless...
my personal experience - bought a car from a dealership w/16k miles and had a clean carfax.

turned out to have different seats to hide the wear, bondo on a couple places and totally wrong mileage.

I think im going to make the decision over this weekend. Just wish more people would of responded to make this decision easier. If mods could move this to a better section to get answers that would be help full.

99 ta 14k miles for 16k

Or

I have been looking at this 01 vette with 57k miles for 20k flat

I think the main thing here is- if you planned on and wanted a 6spd- but settle for an auto just because of price-is not a good decision. As we all know-totally different driving experience, and to me-what's a sports car that you can't rip through the gears and really feel her.- well- that's my two cents at least.

Modest price though-though you should get him down a grand.

Try to get them to come down a little.

I don't think $16k is outragous, but a little bit less would be better

14k miles is a brand new car

I would do it if you know you will be happy with it. Like said above, if you really want a M6 then wait. If you think the auto will make you happy, then get it. Sounds like a nice car though and the price isn't bad with those miles. Good luck with your decision.

hello, also check kelley blue book trade in, private, retail pricing. unless its the 30 anniversary (i think that was 99) i probably wouldnt offer over 13k but thats just me. i'm a bargain shopper. i wouldnt sell my 99 z28 vert for under 10k if it was stock with 60k miles and with all my mods i wouldnt sell mine right now for under 12k just so you know where i'm coming from. good luck i use to be a pontiac guy. had a 74 gto (89 corvette red) with centerlines and a 455. the ex took it in the divorce (@%*$#!)

Carfax only reports things reported by police or DMV occurences. That's it. Pretty much useless. Best thing is to have a bodyshop look at it or someone who knows what they're doing. That price is a little high, I think $14500-15000 is all the money, but it's hard to shop that car with that low mileage. You could always convert to a 6 speed.
