Default Is this bad! *Video*

Sry, but no one answered my last thread and i really need an answer. is this the sign of my fuel pump going out, or just the normal noisy GM fuel pump. No signs of fuel loss, drives fine. Only gets noisy like this when car gets hot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R1AuKz1TfY

What is your fuel pressure at WOT? My Racetronics Fuel pump is loud too but I think your is a little louder.
BTW, in my experience fuel pumps always went out at all at once but don't take my word for it!

But its weird, it SEEMS it only gets like this when its hot outside. When i get up in the morning, u cant even hear it! But if its a hot day and im driving for about an hour, its gets louder. It went away for awhile, now it got a lil hotter and i hear it again.

I hear mine when its cold out and the car runs the first cycle. After that quiet as can be. How many miles on the car. If its 40k+ and its the stocker, I would just put a new one in. I know its pricy, but what the hell. Kinda sounds like my dads old full size chevy blazer.

I agree, in my experience fuel pumps dont get worse and worse then go out. They give you a little warning then dont work again lol. This sounds like the case in your situation. I would put a new one in just to be safe. You dont want to be going down the road one day and it go out an hour away from home

Just get a new pump. Alot of the trucks make that noise. Mine whined like a ****... Never went out. But it's a good idea to change it before it does!

see but just like i said, when i took tht video it was really hot outside, and those days when it was REALLY hot, i would only drive half hour and it would scream. Today, its a nice temperature out, not to hot, ive been driving around for hours (nicely cleaned car, not a cloud in the sky!) and its normal! BTW ive noticed the sound for about 3 months, if it was the pump failing, wouldnt it of gone out by now?

Mine made that sound 20,000 miles ago, every time the car was hot and I had been beating on it. Replaced the fuel filter, and haven't heard it since.

Never heard a pump make that sound. It could be cavitating when the temp is high. If you live at high altitude this could occur also. I don't know why yours would do that and not other f-bodies. Has it always made noise?
