Default Does your AC make your engine sound like a blow dryer?

Am i the only one that notices when you turn on your AC your car becomes alot louder? Not in the "mean" loud, but the "the AC compressor outside my house" loud?

Yea mine sounds more burbly and has a resonating tone to it.

Thats the high speed engine cooling fan coming on. It should cycle on and off more with the a/c on or whenever the engine temp gets to the point programmed into the VCM, the low speed fan is quiet and it runs more often.

On my old V6 firebird when I would put the Ac at max it would sound like we were behind a jet engine in my car. Now in my TA the Ac at max sounds normal. I never really listened to it from the outside

A lot of times you will get leaves or a little trash in the fan that will make it sound louder than normal. My dad's dodge truck started getting loud when the ac fan was on....I took it out and cleaned a few leaves out of it........now it is nice and quiet.
