The actual benfit is suppose to be for keeping any condensation or frost from forming on the TB, not to warm up the air since it moves so fast through the TB anyway. Apparently it only increases hp on stationary car on a dyno but it is questionable whether it really helps out at all when the car is in motion (some say the dyno gains are seen because of cooler air in the engine compartment which wouldn't matter if the car was in motion). I never did the mod but it probably doesn't hurt either way.

hahahahahahah,

enjoy your few days at LS1tech,

seriously that attitude will change very quickly, if not by you then by mods.

as far as the actual question goes, i did the tb bypass and you cant really feel any difference, its mabye a horse at best, but it cant hurt anything. In South Carolina I havent seen snow in like 3 years, so something that keeps a throttle body from freezing over is the least of my worries. only thing is that make sure the hose is short enough to not make contact with the pulley, my problem originally becaue of the SLP bellow
