Default Cutout VS SLP Loudmouth

Would a cutout be too loud? Sound wise which is better? Performance wise?

too loud for the street? Better sounding is not always going to agree with what someone else's opinion is. Performance wise there is hardly a difference, its a cutout and a resonator or if you mean the LM2, a bullet muffler. All are loud, cutout being the loudest.

Well I'm thinking about going with the cutout for now. Im just in the mood to do something with my car. I have had it for a few years and its pretty much stock. I used to have flowmaster on my old GTA but I don't want another set of those.

cut-out=$75 (installed) SLP LM=way to much for some that can be achieved with $75.

or get dual cut-outs on the Y like used to have.

If you plan on doing simple Bolt-ons -> Loudmouth

If you plan on going Big(Heads Cam Etc) -> E-Cutout

*I've owned both

I just got a cutout welded into my entirely stock car/exhaust and it sounds great. its a little noisy but surprisingly tame on the street until u lay into it

you could get a dynomax bullet dumped before the axle that would cost no more than 100 installed and it would give almost as much power as the cutout(like 1 horspower less maybe). you wont be able to feel the difference in power between the cutout and the slp. the cutout should be just a little bit louder but not much. And the bullet would put you right inbetween those two.

Either one is going to be exremely loud. The good thing about the cutout though, is that you can shut it and not get a ticket.

If you dont plan any other mods id get a LM, if you plan on LT's/ory id get the cutout so you can quiet it down for inpsection or whatever, and a cutout through stock manifolds isnt that loud but everyone thinks it sounds good

I vote for true duals with bullets..best sound combo on these car IMHO...

Loud mouth is raspy..

cutout is pretty decent since it points at the ground....

truduals....with bulllets....fairly mellow at cruise.....NASTY at WOT....

+1...

i had the loudmouth, i loved it with stock cats and manifolds, but when i was ready to upgrade to LT and ORY, i ended up changing my catback..

so i would say, get a catback that is quieter, like a magnaflow or hooker, and put a cutout in that.

you can be loud now and your ready for further mods...

Agreed! Same situation here! I usually roll with the cutout open, but it still sounds awesome closed thru the corsa
