yes, there are quite a few turbo LS1's on the site, as well as supercharged ones.

there's actually two different ways of getting a turbo on these cars, the "traditional" method (front-mounted with turbo headers), and the STS rear-mounted turbo kit.

the STS guys tend to catch a lot of crap for their choice in turbos, some people just can't accept the fact that someone is doing turbo differently than the norm. i say, to each his own. after all, it's the owner who needs to be happy with the car, not everyone else.

as for common mods, we're talking air lid/K&N filter, headers/exhaust, LS6 intakes for the '98 - '00 model LS1's, etc.

there's some "free" mods that can be done as well. a good site to check out is www.installuniversity.com....it will tell you the reasons for the modifications, as well as a walk-through as to how to do them.

Im on the west side of indy. It might not look like a lot of stuff to go turbo, but it really is. It should be fun when its done. My recommendation would be figure out the search, and just spend hours researching. Thats what i did and i know what to expect. I dont know about bloomington, but there are some very fast street cars in indianapolis area.

Most stick to bolt-ons and then a cam. I myself would say go bolt-ons and nitrous, but do what makes you happy. Some love the lopey cams, others like myself don't like the radical stuff.

That car is sick. I saw it run at the track I believe in either March or April.

Im looking for a manual but it seems quite a few people prefer the auto.
The auto stronger? better in the long run?

The 4L60E holds less power than the T56, but puts less stress on the 10 bolt. Auto with stall is better/more consistent for drag racing. This topic has been beat to death.

Take it easy on me lol I'm use to one car and its completely different. Did a bit of searching looked around,.. Is tuning needed after I install the exhaust (headers -> back) or other simple mods (pulley lid etc) with my old car if you changed anything the tuning had to be changed but I don't see too many people talking about it, just saying what programs they use. Seems like only the 'big dogs' talk about it. and the handhelds cant really unlock that much hp can they?

For tunning, i would go with hptuners or efi live. Both are good, i chose hptuners because more local people use it. You dont have to tune it after all mods, but it will yield you more power if you do.

if you heard it stall up and a little white cut a 2.4-.6 60 foot then it went into a blur and sounded like you were on an airport take off strip then you got to see it.

and yes it was prolly up at 417 motorsports blake up there builds crazy awesome stuff i can't wait to pay off mine and take it up there.

he also has a turbo'd v8 blazer that ran 10's

and a wicked LS turbo 240 if you went to the LSX shootout then you prolly got to see it

great guy and i'm sure the owner of the car would love the compliments.
