Loud pop when shifting hard into 2nd
I am a new 1999 Z28 owner and noticed this loud pop a few times. I have heard on other threads that the LS1 has a weak rear-end. If I launch it, 1st gear is fine all the way up to 5,000, then I shift to 2nd and dump the clutch, that is when I hear the pop under the back seats. Any idea?

Why are you shifting at 5K? Gotta take her up to 6K buddy. hahaha
Under the back set? Check all the mounts and bolts in the drivetrain. Then check the suspension bolts. If it was the rearend you would know. It would pop when you turn, it would grind, or it would plain not work.

its ur tranny mount for sure, i have a friend with a 97 z28 a4, and everytime he would accelerate it would pop nasty under the seats, we check under the car and we see a squashed tranny mount lol
