Default Is the FIPK worth it?

Does anyone have that K&N 300 dollar filter attachment? Does it really work and worth the price? I have ram air, would that even matter if i put t on? Also, whats everyones views on the free ram air mod? To me cutting holes in the airbox just makes it easier for air to escape instead of going to the intake. Should i even bother to change my setup now, I have a LS1 motorsports lid and a home depot smooth bellow? There's so many combinations.... ARRGGGGG!

LID LID LID....This has been gone over so many times. You will gain nothing from that kit.

As for the FRA..yes it works. Air doesn't "escape" if its being sucked in.

Just get a lid and a K&N filter and use the money you saved toward another mod.

Im running the K/N FIPK on the Mecham with great results. I can give any real world comparrisons since there were quite a few other changes done at the same time. I dont believe the claim of higher air intake temps by some unless there measurements are with the car at stand still. It does have more filter surface erea than the stock sized filter.

The reason I went with it was it was so easy to delete the maf and have zero size reduction from the filter to the TB. I simply put the silicon reducer into boiling water and stretched it over a 4" aluminum pipe and then used another small section of hose to join to the TB.

I also got it for free from a totaled WS6 that came through my work.

The FIPK is nice, but I would stay with the lid, smoothe bellows, and I would use your saved money on a nice MAF or something. I have had both, and I have the FIPK on now because I got it for ridiculously cheap.
