Default what do u think bout my oil color???

hey guys my car is a 99 and i use 5w30 mobil 1 on a 80,000 mile car! i dont plan to go higher weight to soon because when cold my oil pressure is close to 80 psi! it loses some oil once a week so i fill it, but when the oil reaches about 2,000 miles or so my oil color turns **** brown! i have donw the seafoam in the crankcase for 100 miles then changed it but my oil still gets dark at around that milage range and i change the oil every 3k! if there is a better oil out there i will use it but there is not to much chioces in california, i was thinking bout switching to pennzoil platinum but font know if it is better! but thanks and let me know wat u guys think

oil does that with any car...it never stays the same color...as long as you dont have any metal chunks or flakes in it, there shouldnt be anything to worry about...just make sure you keep changing it regularly...imo id stay away from pennsoil (pensludge)

Don't judge the oil by color. Just change it every 3k or so.

use pm feature for questions unrelated to the topic, i hate seeing peoples threds get hijacked after only a few posts lol. but about the oil color, thats what oil does. like they said, as long as you dont have metal shavings in there youre fine. dont judge oil by its color, unless it looks like chocolate milk then ya have bigger problems to worry about it.

When oil turns to a "**** brown" or looks like a "milk shake" I can "guess" some where along your heads or intake you have a slow coolant leak which is leaking into your oil galley..especially if it does it every time,If the oil has no dull brown color to it I would not worry its just fine

You know -- and I'm not trying to be a smart Alec here or anything -- but when you use the oil, it gets dirty. You know, it turns brown. Eventually, it will turn black even.

It only stays the same color when it's in the bottle.
