14.5!?!?! That's pretty anemic! There are lot's of things you can do. There is a section titled 'Gen III External Engine' I would start with the stickys there and see what you can find. A lot of infor on this site.

Is it a M6 or what cuz those times are pretty weak even for a stock LS1! Things you can do on a low budget could be bypassing the throttle body/coolant line, port the throttle body, maybe an LS6 intake, cold air intake, headers, exhaust of some kind, or go to any muffler shop n have 'em make u a cutout(on the cheap side), bigger gears. The possibilities are endless but the reality is can you afford them????

I agree. That's really slow for an LS1. Did you have traction issues?

I'd recommend starting with the free mods. They'll give you a lot better responsiveness and cheap rwhp.

Port & polish the throttle body: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=22

Bump stop mod: http://www.installuniversity.com/ins..._bump_stop.htm

Throttle body coolant bypass: You can buy kits, or just pick up a long enough hose to do it yourself. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins.../tb_bypass.htm

So far as aftermarket options, there are a ton. I'd start with:
1. An airlid. For $100, it adds 7-10rwhp.
2. A CAI like the FTRA http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...products_id=28 . For $160, it cools IATs and creates a ram air effect, improving ETs by .1-.2 seconds (equivalent to probably about 10-15 rwhp).
3. I'd get some nice, wider, stickier tires. By now you should already have traction issues. I like the 285/40 Goodyear F1 GS-D3s. They make a nice compromise between street radials and drag radials.
4. You need exhaust. I'm a true duals person, and highly recommend Bassani. They have dynoed 20rwhp higher than a catback on stock manifolds. They are expensive ($780), but when you consider they gain you what a typical catback AND headers do, they're worth it. Long tube headers are a must have too.
5. An underdrive pulley ($225) is good for about 7-12rwhp.

You should also seriously consider a LS6 intake, gears and a tune. Speed costs money. It all depends on what you want to spend, and how fast you want to be.

Are you A4 or M6? For an A4 I'd recommend a stall converter.
