Default What is the throttle response on a stock '02 WS.6 supposed to be?

I got my 02 WS6 recently. It's completely stock (except for a flowmaster catback put on by the previous owner), but I've noticed that it has a little bit of throttle hesitation. ls1 camaros/ws6s that I test drove were also the same way. Is the throttle response supposed to be slow like this? If anybody could give me a video too, that would be great.

I think thats due to "torque management" all I know is when I went to a performance shop and had it taken off, throttle response was soo much better!

Mine always felt good

How many miles are on her? Maybe time for some maintenance.

Are you sure you're not confusing the transmission downshifting with slow throttle response? If you're cruising at 30 mph and hammer it, the transmission has to downshift from 3rd gear to 1st gear before it can take off. If you want to test the throttle response, put your car in 1st gear and hold it there, then take it up to 10 mph and hammer it. That'll show you your throttle response.

I'm just talking about sitting there (in idle) and revving it. Can one of you guys give a video of what your's is? "Good" seems really subjective to me. I just don't think it's that "good" right now. It has all maintenence performed, (cleaned the K and N air Filter too) and it only has 36k on the clock. Again, if one of you guys could give me a video of your throttle response (or a stock one's), that would really help me out.

How about you post a vid of yours for us to evaluate. Mine, as well as many others, are far from stock.

Sitting in park and revving a little should be as soon as you push the gas. Mine is even with the trac control solenoid. What are your plug gaps at? Did you change the fuel filter?

I don't have a camera, but when my friends are over, I'll use theirs to film it. It's definitely not instantaneous. It takes a noticeable amount of time before it moves. I tried it on other stock WS.6s with low miles, and theirs were the same as mine. I have not checked my plug gaps or fuel filter. Would those cause the throttle hesitation?
