Default LS6 Heads, Cam & Intake on an LS1 Block?

If I have a stock LS1 aluminum block, can I put stock LS6 heads on it with no modifications or issues?

My logic is that I can add an LS6 intake manifold, LS6 cam, and LS6 heads, and pretty much be running an LS6. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance....

yes, just get it tuned and you be making around 370-380rwhp and similar TQ. my bro had an 02 TA with LS6 intake, heads, cam, cut out and off road pipes(stock ls6 manifolds) made 383rwhp through a six-speed. true sleeper

I would def. recommend the Intake... But if you going to do a Camswap, atleast make it count... UNLESS you have plans of Forced Induction down the road!!

Instead of 10-12hp from the cam youll get 30-40.....

The heads are fine!!! I would upgrade to some 918's or somethign similar..

The intake is a great idea, its been proven over and over on this board!!!

well i have the ls6 cam and i think its pretty small. positives, idles at 600 rpm with no lope. sounds stock if you ask me. neg, much lower dyno numbers than i expected. especially if you have a manual trans. there are better cams out there. decide if you want race / max power or good street mannors / drivability. i wish i'd gone slightly bigger and i have an A4.

Hey DanoZ28! What were your dyno #. I think does 2.73 are really hurting you and without a stall. But Dano is right it depends if you want a race car or street manner car.

please no laughing at my crap numbers. (A4) only 349 rwhp dynajet at 13.1:1 a/f only mod since is a 80mm TB. still need 85mm maf, possible under pulley. then its gears which some say does not effect your rwhp. maybe TC? there is a local shop that get approx 20-25 higher numbers, hi tech in anoka but i havent gone there (i want real numbers). i still have torque mgmt turned on , stock timing 28 degrees, lowering my A/F to 12.6 would gain a bit.

diff on cams between 98-99 and 01-02 , lift is about 498 for 98-99 and only 475 for 01-02. just remember 01-02 got ls6 intake and better exhaust manifolds. oh, ls6 cam is 550 lift and 218 / 204 duration. ls1 duration is about 200 / 204 .

For a nice sleeper combo, do the LS6 heads & intake, but get a better cam. Lingenfelter GT-11 cam... idles like stock, but runs like a bat outta hell. Just put one in mine with LS6 stage III heads... WOW is all I've got to say.
