Default 3.8 alternator to my 5.7

Good morning to everyone,

I was wondering if any one could tell me or email me if the higher amperage alternator that's in the 3.8 engine Camaros that have a 150 amp alterator if it would work in place WITH OUT any modifcations on to my LS1 to replace my weak 105 amp alternator that I have?

Thanks,

Erik Johnson

Highly likely, no. They most likely have different housing and bolt patterns. You could search a sponsor site and see who sells high output alternators

check part numbers for the different motors and see if you can get two to match.

if they are different amperage alternators the part numbers aren't going to match

edit: i just did some checking around and i couldn't find any 150 amp alternators for a 3.8 camaro and the 105 amp alternators i did find used a totally different mounting setup so it seems that you are out of luck as far as that goes. You will have to check out some places that sell high output alternators for you car
