Default Cutout affects on o2 sensor?

So i had a cutout welded in under the passenger seat about 2 months ago and it seems like the car has started to run rich within the past 2 weeks. is it possible that the cutout being open all the time has caused this? its a 98 motor and had the 241 cast heads installed a month ago and i was also thinking the extra flow from the heads, lid and cutout might be causing it. the car is on the stock tune and is gonna get tuned pretty soon and im just curious if ill have to worry about bad o2's down the road. any input is appreciated, thanks.

I ran open headers for one day, both my O2's went out a month later.
Most likely your new Mods are causing your car to run rich, a tune should even everything out.

Side note, is it a 99? or 98?
And what made you go with 241 heads?

its a '99 with a '98 motor dropped in it. I went with the 241's because i blew a head gasket and i wanted to upgrade to the stronger MLS gaskets, i got a great deal on the 241's so i went for it. small upgrade but i could definitely feel the difference.

i beleive you have to have a 12-18 inches of pipe so you dont foul out the sensor. But i ran open headers for a week or two and fouled out the pass o2.
