Default who to use to ship an engine/transmission???

I need to ship an engine and transmission from Charlotte, NC to Mid-Canada.

Does anyone have any experience with shipping motors and transmissions. I have never done this before so I have no idea where to start. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!

contact fed ex and get a estimate, but make sure you have an approx. weight ya know...take that estimate and start calling some freight companies in charlotte, they should be in the yellow pages...freight companies will usually be cheaper than fed ex...but that is the way my friend does it

defintly use freight. your gunna need to put it on a skid and use a pallet jack to haul the thing. i dont even think fedex/ups handle that type of stuff.

I got my crate motor shipped by Fed Ex frieght. It wasn't horrible price wise ($300) and had to show ID and the guy waited around to make sure it wasn't damaged and everything looked good. I had a good experience and I would recommend them. Fed Ex and UPS both have freight as well as several freight companies that are everywhere.
