Question Tightening headers question.

I have Pacesetter coated longtube headers. I always have to tighten them. Is there some way to fix this problem?

I had it happen to me one time, but that was only once because I didn't torque them down enough... otherwise I have no idea what the problem could be.

Did you use locking washers on the header bolts? If not try it and that should fix the problem.

whatever you do, don't over-torque them.

aluminum heads, do not torque them down past recommended. I think that's 11 ft/lbs on the first pass (middle to out), then 18 ft/lbs on the second pass. I haven't had any issues with mine since installation.

Torque them to specs and use the locking kit, you won't have anymore problems.

What gaskets did you use? Do you keep tightening them because the bolts are actually backing out or because you hear a leak?
