If you're a budget guy get some LS6 heads, if you have cash to spend look for something else like AFRs or one of the other performance heads available. Patriot makes a good cheap LS6 style head with everything for around $1200.

What is the car? How much weight are you looking at? Trans? Gearing? Expectations? A bit more info here would help....
For a point of reference, we have a stock 02 LS1/T56 from a WS6 in our 3300lb 67 Camaro, and it is really fun and impressive to drive. Even stock (LS1 heads on an LS6 block it turned out), this engine is a night and day difference from the 350/4 speed that came out. I would recomend you build what you have, you can always modify later...

LS1 heads flow pretty good, you could deck them a little if you want to get a little more compression, just upgrade the springs so they can handle a little more aggressive cam profile, and there is always a head refreshening you know, a valve job and maybe a port, you definitely have a good setup to start with

ls6 is a good block but if your planning on making horsepower go with a 6.0 block and 6.0 liter heads that block is good up to around 1200hp and does not flex and the heads ported and polished should flow around 225cc
