Default SS looking for some mods

hello everyone, ive just bought my very first camaro. It is a 2000 SS convertible and it has yet to be modded. actually it has an slp lid but thats it. So if anyone can help me build a list of things to do to it would be GREATLY appreciated. Also would a fast intake work on a 2000 becuase of the EGR? Thanks

i would just continue with some bolt ons. an exhasut would be a good next step. id actually do headers at the same time to make sure you wont have any compatibility issues down the road.

basic principle is letting the engine breath is essential before you do anything else (coming from a guy with 7 collapsed lungs, pretty important for a person too)

id then do an LS6 intake. they give great gains from bolt on cars. A FAST will work, but youll probably want to dump the EGR instead of cutting a hole in the manifold. its just kind of overkill though on a bolt on car. some say itll cause you to lose power down low, but im not sure

+2 on the exhaust and letting your engine breathe. your list could go on forever or could be extremely short, you need to let us know how much your looking to spend or want to spend. do the basics and get your exhaust done, the intake will help no doubt but it all depends on what you have done, the more bolt ons you have the better the performance from the ls6 intake will be. dont forget about a good tune, that alone will unleash plenty of hp! anyways whats your budget?

Yep I agree with everything said above, and I also recommend the "So you want to be fast?" Sticky.

you could some very nice mods for 3 grand.....

headers-350
LS6 intake-300
true duals/cat back-400 or more
ported throttle body-120
under drive pulley- 250 w/ belts
Full cam install w/ tune-17-1800

those prices aren't exact of course but for 3 grand you do some great power adding mods to the SS......suspension would also be good so you can put it all to the ground.

Exactly what I was thinking. If its an auto do a 3000 or bigger stall, full exhaust and a 3.73 out back and maybe an ls6intake but the first few things will really wake up the car

Yep, start with suspension..........go ahead and get a lid and catback, but do yourself a favor.......make it handle first. Then you can go from there with the hp mods.

Exhaust to start (headers and a cat back since you're in Cali) and then suspension. LCA's and brackets, TA, SFC's and a PB.

the best thing you cna do for that car would be sub frame connectors since its convertable but just do all the bolt ons plus do the free bolt ons like the throttle body by pass and porting the throttle body and the porting the MAF ends. then go to cold air intake and under drive pully the intake and heads and cam and double roller timing chain exhaust gears. short shifter and if you want easy horsepower spray it hahaha
