Default I think I want this car! Help!

By the pictures, can you tell if this car has an aftermarket intake? And is it an FRC? And one last question, does it look like it has a stock exhaust? I'm kind of hesitant about getting this car since it ..may.. be modified.

Has an aftermarket intake, yes its a FRC tips do look to be other than stock. Very nice looking car, has what appears to be an LS6 intake (no EGR port).

Oh geez. Now I'm worried. You never know if he may of had nitrous before hand...

are there any signs of previous usage of nitrous? (be it wet or dry shot?)

The car is not local

Vettes never came w/ an EGR or at least the 98+ i think.. ,so I imagine that is a Vette LS1 intake

In case you all were wondering, it is apparently a 1999.

Also no EGR means no passing inspection....

Vette's come from the factory with no EGR system. It will only fail inspection if the car came with one, but I don't think any vette had EGR and was an LSx engine.

Yeah the air filter setup is definately aftermarket and the tips do look aftermarket but I can't tell what kind for certain. As far as the intake manifold 'Vettes didn't come with EGR anyway so passing inspection won't be a problem.

how far away are you from it? I would say make a weekend trip out of it to check it out and take it for a drive, I wouldnt be worried at all if someone just put an intake exhaust on it. Look for holes in the carpet in the rear hatch area or other places to see if there was a bottle on it. Honestly I would highly doubt it, most folks are completely satisfied with a stock corvette, or a cai and exhaust...just a thought

Yeah, weekend trip sounds like a plan.

The reason I'm scared is because I almost bought a vette two weeks ago and had to find out that the owner previously had nitrous by reading his old threads! He didn't tell me otherwise...(scary isn't it?)

Thanks for the posts guys!

"ls6 intake" is the "intake manifold."
And since its a '99, unless its been swapped, it has the LS1 manifold.
The air intake (not manifold) looks like a halltech.

My thoughts exactly. Nitrous does not destroy engines. Stupid people using nitrous destroy engines. It can be run very safely with no adverse effects.

Looks like a super clean car. If the price was right and I drove it and wanted it, I'd buy it.

Good luck.
