Default ac removal

searched and didnt find anything

Do I need to remove my dash to take out the outside ac box on the firewall?

I already took of the evaporator and heater core and all that stuff.

any writeups?

why did u take off your heater core?

i don't see anything in that thread about removing the black plastic cover on the firewall.

I already have all the ac compnents and lines out....I can't figure out the damn cover. It looks like I need to pull it out from inside the car, but their are parts of the dash that are in the way a little. nothing is holding in it I removed all the bolts.

Can someone who has done it before chime in with any tricks so I don't have to take out my dash...

yes you have to take out the dash to COMPLETELY remove the box

wait, you took the evaporator and the heater core out, but you cant figure out how to get the evaporator/heater core box out........

Check out the drag tech section. There was a thread about this recently. I might be doing acomplete removal this weekend. It stopped working afew months ago, so why not lose the dead weight?

I removed the black box on the firewall with a 3lb hammer
