well i've been thinking of doing this, you guys know where the Y ends in the exhaust after the cats right about in the middle of the car, i was wondering of cutting it off their, and pputting a turndown. pretty much it will be like a cutout, you guys think its a good idea?
i hope you guys understand what im trying to say

Do it the louder the better. I have Kooks, TSP true duals ORX, no cats and straight through pipes with two turn downs, and it sounds awesome. Still not loud enough yet. Time for Trex!

****-ton of people have done this already, maybe try a search.

If you have a bullet muffler, then turn-down, its not that bad at all and sounds pretty good. IMHO

Peace,
Craig.

why not slap an x pipe on there and then turn it down. It would sound awesome with some bullets.

I put a cut out after the y-pipe. Way to loud for me. I really only did it for a little extra hp for the track.

Do you have stock manifolds and cats? I did exactly that when I got my car. I cut everything off right at the y pipe and left it. With stock manifolds and cats it was pretty quiet. Now I have longtubes with a non catted Y pipe, and its still just open with no catback, and it is perfect.

Camaro396 was telling you headers/off-road y-pipe. Those with a cut-out will be NASCAR.

Peace,
Craig.

now, i have a question for the people that have done this set up.

did u guys remove the muffler/tips?
or did u just clamp them.

The back part of the exhaust (muffler) is loose right now, what do you guys think i should do, im thinking of leaving it because i dont know how it will look witout the tips?

I took mine off. Actually, I left it for a minute, and went for a drive, and it fell off.
