New used LS1
Hey guys, I bought a '98 trans am a couple months ago and was changing out the filter a K&N. I decided to glance at the MAF to see how it was doing and the throttle. Both were aftermarket and bored larger. What other things can you guys think of that I could visually check to see what else the guy modded. I dont really feel like duplicating what is already on there.

if im not mistaken you have to check the part number on the ls6 intake, because vette's didnt come with egr. LS6 part numbers are 12561182 and 12561184. the number is on the driver side of the manifold just above the firing order.
if you have '98 heads, it should say 806 on the front of the passenger side head. if its any other number, post it up.

Yeah, I also noticed the lid was not stock, but its also not right for this car. It doesnt sit correctly, slightly jimmied in one corner to keep the latches holding it. Gonna have to replace it.
It is possible that the previous owner converted his LS1 intake to an LS6 just remove that restrictive portion for the egr?
I will check the numbers a bit later and post them up.
Thanks for all the help so far guys!
P.S: lol, LS1>girlfriend, my gfs been saying i think that way for years. Before this one I had a 91 trans am, spent just about every weekend tuning it. Needless to say, she was grumpy. :p

lol, i actually passed up dinner and a movie a few really nice nights to take a ride in the car.
you cant remove the egr and call it an ls6, the ls6 has a larger plenum- 5.19L compared to the ls1's 5.06L. ls6 runners are also .541L compared to the ls1's 0.536L.
