I Have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.3 and wondered if a 1998 LS1 could be swapped into it without major mods?

a 98 computer will proabbly give you the most hassle- which is minimal if you have a good tuner.

You should be able to put it in w/o many problems.

If you're going to do the swap why not shoot for something with more power than the
LS1? I don't know you're goals but that's what I'd do. Maybe a 402/408 or something along those lines. My thinking is that you won't notice a whole helluva difference between your engine now and an LS1, I mean I know the LS1 is better performance wise but I wouldn't say leaps and bounds

not worth the money dude. go big or go home. a cam in ur "little" 5.3 would do a hell of alot more than a stock ls1
