Default Cam questions before I do LS1 swap

Ok, so I have a bone stock LS1 from a 98 camaro with under 50k on the clock. I want to cam it before it goes into the car. I also plan on springs too.

I cannot afford heads, no ifs ands or buts about it. Period. BUT I can port polish the stock ones if that is worth the effort.

I am looking for a cam that delivers as much power as possible but will still be daily driveable with an auto and work at least decent with a 2200 stall converter.

I have a connection to get comp cams at a discount so something they would have on hand would be ideal.

Any help is appreciated!

this will be going into my chevelle, so of course headers and exhaust will be done at the time of install, intake will be done shortly after, I just need to start gathering parts so the motor can be ready to be dropped in

getting to the intake with the motor in the car will be cake

Also, you'll probably need some better valve springs for that bigger cam.
