Default MAF Question

As a birthday gift I received an SLP MAF. I know the stock maf is fine upto around 500hp, but decided to put on the new SLP one. Should I worry about changing anything out along with it? I have the SLP Induction kit already installed on the car. Think I heard somewhere that its a bad idea to change the maf? Is this true? Thanks for the help.

Get a ported throttle body. They have good bang for the buck. I like AE13291 reply. He has not blown his motor so all is good. What is you Air/fuel ratio? I do not like 85 slp MAF on anything but stock cars. If you play with adding stuff get a wideband. All ways know ur a/r ratio.

Not sure what the mix is. I have an a/f gauge, it reads optimum for the most part.
I installed today anyways. No problems. Oil changed and mechanic read the compter, says all looks a-ok.

Its a good deal. Get a few minor things then get it tuned. My MAF was causing me to have a huge power robbing A/F ratio of like 18+ to 1.
