Default L92 vs LS1

Can somebody please tell me what the L92 head is, where it comes from, and what makes it better than the LS1 heads?

It is a newer-style LSx head, made by GM, but the engine needs a 4" bore for them to work, so the stock LS1 cannot use them. They are very cheap and flow very well. SDPC and other sponsors have them. Check their link to the right --->

The L92 engine came in some big SUVs I think starting in 2005.
