Default is it a ls1 or ls6 intake

how can i find out if its a ls1 or ls6 intake?

Use the search button many threads about it. Anyway if the bottom of the intake is flat, or stock 01-02's have them(obviously not your case), and the easiest way to tell is the part number on top of the intake manifold; the part number for it is 12561184 for 2001-2002 f-body ls6, the zo6 is 12573572, and gmpartsdirect is 88894339.

Actually Im pretty sure the easiest way would be to use your eyes and look and see if it has a big *** EGR tube coming out of it in the front, or a block off plug. If it does, its a LS1 intake, if it doesnt have any of this, its a LS6 intake.

EGR connection on the neck is a dead giveaway.

There are non EGR ls1 intakes though, that is not dead give-a-way. Best option is to look at the floor or bottem side of the intake. Ls1 is more of a tunnel effect which makes room for the coolant vapor tubes, Ls6 is flat.

there are also a few slp ls6 intakes with provisions for EGR
