Air Box Mod??

Air Box Mod?? I just bought a 2000 Trans Am and the previous owner said he cut some fins out of the stock air box. i'm wondering if that makes much difference (or if it's B.S.) and if it'd be worth it to buy a new one, such as an SLP?

he prob just did the free ram air mod. www.installuniversity.com
