best drs??
I currently have 275-40-17 BFG g-force T/A drag radials. they work pretty good for traction on the street and track. but I need more traction now. I have heard a lot of good things about mickey thompson's tires, and also seen a lot of ppl with nitto's too. I need something for the drag strip and street use. I don't plan on driving a whole lot on the street because i have another vehicle to get back and forth to work with.
So what dr gets the best traction??

Love my et radials. They're the reason I need a new clutch! Couldn't tell you how they do in the rain though. I would imagine any dr is gonna be like a water ski though

I've had the ET streets, and the BFG comp ta dr's. I do like ET streets better, they seemed to hook up better for me. I know you said you have another car but PLEASE dont drive in the rain. Two of my friends wrecked last week (95 Z28, and a 01SS) both had dr's and it was just sprinkling outside. But yeah go with the ET streets.............

On my GT I currently use the BFGs. Cutting 1.7 60's with bone stock rear end/clutch/suspension. I'd say they work pretty good and are perfectly fine to drive on the street.
That being said I'd definitely go with the ET Streets. Never seen/used the Hoosiers but the MTs are definitely the stickiest out of the 3 common DRs(BFG and Fail 555Rs). Unless completely worn out they are still pretty street able. Only "downfall" they have is they don't last very long on regular street driving but oh well.

ya id say no to driving in rain i try to avoid it, but i got caught out on my nittos today in a down pour and i was doin 50 in a 60 and it was scary! never got real sideways but u could feel it gettin loose and that it wouldnt take much to lose it, but mine are gettin a little worn too.

I have MICKEY THOMPSON ET STREET DR's, size 275/50R15 mounted on 15X8 Weld Draglites. I got them to consistantly cut 1.56, 1.58 60ft's with a 3600 Stall and 3.73 Gears.
They aren't too bad in the rain either.. as long as you aren't being a dumbass when you drive pretty much any tire will hold out, except for a slick.
