Default 1999 C5 Ridiculously High Oil Press What to do?

I recently purchased a 99 C5 and while i was driving earlier i saw my oil press was pegged at 80 and then i switched to the digital readout and it was at 128psi. Has anyone ran into this problem before? Then after awhile it will go back to normal ops psi then back up and down to 0 than back up. Any info would be great. Im a straight NEWB to the chevy LS1 world. Jay

It is actually pretty common. Look over at the corvetteforum but, it is just a faulty oil pressure sending unit. kind of a biatch to change.

It just scares me when it resets and hits 0 for a sec then back up. Can it be changed without removing the manifold?
