I was reading per the NHRA it has to have a certain rating or something to that nature. Wasn't sure about open faced or closed face. I have a couple helmets back in Arkansas, but I forgot to grab them. I will probably just get some info and check it all out this weekend. I need to work on the car some before I run it. Have to fix my SLP air lid. Just don't have any tools here or place to put the car. Got used to having a shop to use and now I don't. Weather been crappy and cold when I visit AR

Thunder road doesnt care as long as you have a helmet. I've made passes there after the pass i take my helmet off and when I get my time slip they just asked if i have a helmet. I use a Motorcycle helmet with no visor(it broke off) that I got from a bike friend of mine. Sucks this is the same weekend as tx2k. Btw I'm new here down here at Ft Polk I use to race at TRR every weekend with my old car.

Right, they are supposed to be rated and up to date, snell rating I think. Those helmets are generally more expensive. I have a DOT (wouldnt pass a real tech inspection) helmet I bought for about $75 or so that matches my car. I wear a helmet every pass but they rarely enforce it. I was making passes that require a roll cage and they never asked for a helmet much less looked for a cage.....so yeah its lenient. Ive seen guys run with no helmets windows down etc which I think is dumb as hell but whatever its YOUR safety so its your business as far as im concerned

Course if youre anything like the mustang guys at thunder road youll pull up to the line with no helmet, window down, and one hand on the wheel like they are on a saturday night date. Buncha retards
