Lots of people run 300 hits in two stages on stock motors, two people here off the top of my head have done it. One motor lasted two years and then threw a rod, the other laster about a year before a ring failure...
My first TA had 225 in two stages and it lasted 3 years until a caddy ran a red light...

yep ive heard of 300+ shots. ive seen several take 200 shots like nothing. it just depends on how healthy the motor is and if you have all the supporting mods for the shot your doing.

On my old 2002 M6, 150 NX wet with intake and exhaust, lasted about 50 passes before a backfire cracked the plastic LS6 intake manifold. After installing the Weiand Aluminum manifold. ran another 50 passes before getting piston slap. My advice, if its stock and you cant afford F.I. keep it under a 125 shot and make sure its wet and at the very least, make a pass on the dyno with the juice keeping a close eye on the Air/Fuel to make sure your not running lean.

If you are talking completely stock, with no tune I wouldnt go any higher than 125 my buddy had a stock 99 camaro with only 52K, we went to the track we started off with a 75shot he ran 13.20, wanted 12's so we changed to a 100 shot 12.70's he wanted to do low 12's so we went to a 125 12.20, he got greedy and wanted high 11's so he put a 150 (this is all wet shots of course)............He ran a 14.80 and luckly we had a trailer cause with no wide band, no tune, just a stock ls1 6spd the #7,and 5 piston had a hole in it when we pulled it apart the following day. But we had a good battle...

We sprayed 300+ dry almost every weekend on a stock 6.0. Completely stock internals with fuel pumps, injectors and tuned. Never hurt it. So it CAN be done. You have to find a good tuner that is willing to work with you on it.

****, dont be a little girly and stop at 125, just make sure you have the proper safety stuff and a wideband and give it hell. i didnt have a wideband or a fpss and i chipped #7 with a 150 shot cause my pump didnt keep up.
just start out with a small shot and work your way up and make sure everything is right. there are a ton of people that hit their bottom end with a big shot

Its kinda Like asking people how much money to bet in vegas. Its up to you. Risk what you want. I have seen some pretty sad cars take mad shots. and like everybody else said LS1's with 2-- shots.
