Default solenoid trouble

Hey guys i just installed an HSW sudden impact wet plate kit with HSW's purge setup... everything went pretty smoothly with the installation and i just got my bottle filled last week. So i threw the bottle in the car and i was eager to try out the purge at least (i don't have a tune yet so i'm waitin for that). But when i went to hit the button the solenoid opened and just stuck there and i ran around and closed the bottle and waited awhile. When i opened the bottle again the solenoid was shut but when i hit the button it just opened and stayed again. I didn't get the wiring kit that was optional with the purge kit so i'm kinda worried that the issue could be the relay that i bought from auto zone? I've heard all the horror stories of **** gettin caught in the the plunger and pluggin it up and as far as i can tell the solenoid is fine. so if any one has ideas as far as what could be causing this that would be awesome!

Thanks
Kyle

Where is your kit grounded to? How did you wire the purge up one should be to the ground the other wire goes right to the purge button. Also what was the bottle pressure

are you sure you are using a momentary switch instead of an on/off switch?? this would allow the purge solenoid to remain open under 12v power. The solenoid would still close if the ground disrupted.

Kyle,

You really should have a relay on there. Shoot me over a PM with your email address and I can attach a diagram for you. Or just jump over here and fill out a ticket so I can attach files for you to view. Also, unless the purge is on a regular on off switch, the only way for it to stick open is junk on the plunger. Are you running a nitrous filter? Thanks.

yea, it sounds like you used a SPST switch instead of a moentary switch, on your install, if you push down on the switch does it click, or does it just go down and then spring back up? If it clicks when you push the button down then that is the problem, if not could be a stuck plunger in the noid, as Nick said, Call HSW, and double check your wiring

What was your bottle pressure when you did this?

I don't think it was the bottle pressure because it was only like 600 psi
