Default How much NOS and still be reliable?

I've got a genI sbc 400 bored .40 over. It has forged everything and a 4 bolt main with arp bolts. Right now it makes 500 hp at about 6k. How much NOS can I safely spray?

Are your pistons designed for Nitrous or are they N/A?

Agreed, Forged doesnt always mean designed for Nitrous.

My SRP's were exactly designed to be stronger then stock but the ring lands were VERY close and the wrist pin was plastered up to the same area because it was a 6" rod vs the 5.7" on a 383 LT1.

Honestly, judging by your question I'm gonna assume that you are new to nitrous so I would recommend starting off with something small like a 75-100 shot and go from there. Nitrous can be your best friend or your worst enemy, it all depends on the tune up. Take your time, ask the right people questions and use some common sense and it could last you a very long time. Then again, if you listen to the wrong people you could end up scooping pieces of your pistons out of your oil pan.

check out the stickies and read through a few of the threads on here, these a lot of good info on here if you ignore the stuff like "make sure you go with wet it's safer" that doesnt have any info or thoughts to back it up, wet is not always safer and can have bigger problems and more frequent failures than dry systems do. I agree to start with about a 75 shot pull your plugs after the runs make sure everything is running well before stepping up your jets
