Default Winter projects....Nitrous motor Teaser Pictures......

Heres some teaser pictures of one of the many winter projects......new motor....new trans/converter......completely new intake system and direct port nitrous system.....

The connecting rod picture is a comparison of one rod from the old motor and one rod from the new motor.... The new motor has the aluminum rod setup.

I put some pictures up first.....specs later.....

The intake is now down in Texas getting the nitrous system installed....

Sometimes I wonder where some of you guys get the money for these builds.

Nice paying jobs always help

But I also sold EVERYTHING from the old combo....motor, trans, converter, you name it, and its gone......

I still had to spend money out of my own pocket, but selling the old parts sure does help....

And these projects for 2009 sure weren't cheap

LOL I'm gonna have to get me one of those "good paying jobs"

I make decent money, I just have a lot of other **** to pay for and there's not alot left over.
I'm still young though, Once my ol' lady gets out of school (Nurse Anaesthetist) maybe you'll see me posting up about my big $$$ build (if she don't leave my ***!)

Looks like an awesome setup, what kind of times are you shooting for?

I'm not that old either....turning 27 in April..... But all I can say is, college degree's do help alot..... But being single helps too

I'm a Design Engineer/Engineering Consultant.....

Goal for the car is to go 7.90's....

Local class I'm running has an 8.20 cap, so I would like the car to run in the teens so I can be competitive....

Those are some huge pushrod holes. What size are the springs? They look massive aka something in the 1.6xx range.

Pushrods will be Smith Brothers 7/16 .165 wall on the intake, and 1/2" .188 wall on the exhaust. The springs are PSI 1248 triples. 1.66 in diameter. We have them setup at 430 lbs on the seat, and over 1100 lbs open pressure. That might give you a few hints on the camshaft selection.....

I believe its a Jegs brand return spring setup... I used that on my old setep, and just transfered it over....

GRP's. Custom length to allow for a specialized ring pack unlike any other on the piston. Also machined to clear the crankshaft counterweights.....

Its a big rod to swing around in the LSX block. The block definitely required some machining to clear them.
