Default What is the differance between NOS, NX, etc... jets Educate us?

I am looking for a few jets and while I was going through my collection (HAHA) I found a few that have NX on them and a couple that only have the number. They look identical. My kit calls for NX "Style" what does that mean?

NX Style is a large barrel design.
Nitrous Outlet
Compurcar
Nitrous works
Zex
and probably a few others.

NOS jets have a very small barrel with a taper under the head.

Large Barrel Jets will not fit into NOS jet fittings.

Nitrous works
Zex
and probably a few others.

What has me lost is the fact I have a Dynotune kit with jets that look identical to those that came with my plate from Nitrous Outlet, HOWEVER you go to buy jets from Dynotune they say "Will not work with NX kits???" I guess I am missing something.

Just because it fits the hole does not mean its ok to put there. The sizing might be stamps x but could be something different. I would highly recommend calling Nitrous Outlet and get their jets, and jet settings for your kit.

Dynotune jets look like NOS jets unless they changed something..

compucar jets are different than any other jet.........most kits use an flare jet and some use a funnel.........if your jet calls for an nx jet most flare jets should work.....ive used nx in nos nozzles and nos in a nx nozzle....and iether will work with the zex.........

but compucar jets only work in a compucar nozzle.....

oopps you are correct about the nozzles. I did forget about there nozzle using that screw in stuff.
Compucar PLATE jets are flared jets.

The only way you can use an NX jet in an NOS nozzle is drill the nozzle fitting out, unless they changed something over the last year or so. Nos jets will sometimes fit into an NX nozzle and plate fitting, but may not be centered up, due to the small barrel being all loosy in the hole. NX nozzle fittings use to be drill shallow just so you could not use the nos jets in them.

See this why its best to go with the mfg's of your nitrous system, so many variations with in this one simple little part.
