Nitrous Solenoid Bad??
I went to the track last night to get a few runs in. Well I did 2 n/a runs. First run felt good but SES light came on halfway down the track (car didn't feel weird or anything). Second run, felt good of the line so stayed on it and the SES light went away at the end of the run (the car still felt good)...
So I decide to spray the next run:
For safety concernds and just because I felt a little iffy, I decided to check the nitrous solenoid. As I don't have a purge kit, I disconnected the nitrous line at the nozzle and activated it. I hit the WOT switch to see if nitrous comes out and sure enought (Nothing). I heard clicking but it was coming from the fuel solenoid and the nitrous solenoid was not doing anything.. It's a HSW brute force Kit.
I have run about 4 bottle trough this system before.
So my questions are:
How can I check and make sure the noid is bad/good?
Could it be a bad connection?
How often do they go bad?

Theres no set lifespan on a noid. If you have a test light or a meter, you need to test for power and ground at the noid. If those check ok, either the plunger is stuck (possible trash) or the coil is bad (it happens).
I would prob check connections first since this kit is as new as it is. Prob 9 out of 10 nitrous kits that have had a problem with one solenoid not working that I have seen has been a wiring issue.
Are your noids on a connector or hardwired all the way to the relay?

Thanks for the information...I will check all the wires for good connection with ground and power. I could be trash as you mention, as I don't have a nitrous filter. May have to invest some money on one.

I activated the nitrous and sure enought the nitrous solenoid was not sticking. The fuel solenoid did have a magnetic field on it. So, I started tracing the wires back and I'll be damn, the ground wire loose. Fixed the ground wire and it's running perfect now.
Thanks for the Help Guys.....
