dry shot=nitrouse only run b4 the maf sensor relys on cars pcm to up the fuel
wet shot= nitro and fuel added by the system at once premixed
bottle heater= when spraying the bottle get very cold fast...that drops the bottle pressure ... the heater stops that...
purge kit= allows you to blow nitro thats been sitting in your line(stale nitro) out without putting it in your motor...
hope that helps man..
as far as which is best and do you need it...
thats all personal preferance...

Here's an addition:
Dry Shot= Best for small shots in the LS1, 150hp or less- make sure your fuel system is up to it. I even would say 150 is a little high, but to each there own.
Wet Shot= More complicated because of the extra "fuel" system, but also can shoot a larger shot. The LS1 manifold is not designed to flow liquid though- so I'd suggest a direct port system for the safest bet.
Bottle Heater= Nothing to add to what jabber said
Purge Kit= By purging so the line has fresh liquid N2O in it your nitrous will come on stronger and more instantaneously, also more consistantly. If you don't purge- N2O will *most likely* come on softer & slower- but this depends on how long it's been sitting, etc, etc.
