Arrow Topping up your bottles...calling dealers inside!!

I was just at my local nitrous shop and he told me that next time I came in, I would have to drain my bottles 100% before he could fill them. (two 10lb bottles). They have only been filled three times since new. The first fill they purged out the air,(charged $ for 12lbs), next fill was a 10lb fill and the third was a 4 3/4lb fill. They said there was air inside??? I need to keep my bottles up to max preasure with my system, so i always refill after a race day.

My question is where did the air come from????? or are they trying to F--k me over.

Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

CW

I may be wrong ? But sounds like BS to me ... I have never made anyone empty there bottle. And I have filled LOTS of bottles with our shop running 3 nitrous races cars and the promod that we work on. We use a NOS brand bottle filling station.. Before that when I use to freeze them I still never had to empty one single bottle.

Find a new fill shop. There is no reason to fully empty the nitrous bottle. I would however recommend bleeding the bottle some to ensure a good fill.

I'm wondering what you mean. I assume you know bottle pressure is determined by nitrous temperature and is independent of how full the bottle is.

Depending on how much you are filling up bottles, you may want to look into your own setup. It can be a simple as a decent scale and a line with a 1/4 turn shutoff valve on it. Freeze fills work well for me. Then I don't have to worry about anyone trying to bullshit me over amount/price

The shop i take my bottle to does the samething. The guy said its to much pressure on their fill station or some bs like that. So your bottle needs to be empty in order to fill it. So if i go there with half a bottle they won't just top it off. Its annoying and i'm no longer going to that shop.

Freeze fills can top off bottles all day long.

Total horseshit. I never emptied a bottle before filling it. You can easily fill a bottle, with a pump or the freeze method, no matter how much nitrous is in it.

I'd find a new shop.
