Mallory 685 Violet wire only handle 10 amps, fuse possibly needed?
Alright I plan on using this violet wire on the Mallory 685 as the window switch. But according to the manual it says it has a maximum currect rating of 10 amps. So I was thinking of adding a 10 amp fuse, but it is pointless to put it on the Mallory 685 violet wire since it is used as just a ground. Correct? I have to put it on the 12 volt side right?

I'm no expert, but I had mine hooked up with no problems. It is a ground and since I was hooked up to the solenoids I wasn't too worried about it since they only pull a couple amps.

You should always use a relay to switch the solenoids. The wire from the window switch (in your case the Mallory 685) should ground the relay coil. Solenoid current should be switched through the relay's contacts. A fuse is not needed in the relay coil circuit. A 20 or 30 amp fuse should be in the solenoid circuit.

You want to run it to a relay, don't connect the ground side of the noids directly to it.
I will say the big nx noids pull enough that 3 of them(two nitrous, one fuel) popped a 30amp fuse on me before when I had a friend helping with my car and he wired them all together, even though I told him not to.
