Default New best on motor then I tried to spray it.

I just put the motor in it and got it running on Saturday. It ran a 6.96 @ 99 on motor. My 60' was only a 1.52 because the iron block put an extra 100 lbs on the nose. I have to adjust the coilovers on the front. I had the direct port set with 24N and 14F for a 175hp shot. I had the fuel on the rich side trying to be safe. It only ran a 6.73 @ 105 on the spray. My old cam only 346 ran a 6.64@104 on a 200 shot. I figured it had to be pig rich because I could smell it going down the track. I am going to put the 26N jets in it and leave the fuel side alone and try again this weekend. I was hoping for 6.40s this weekend. I can't seem to break out of the high 6s.

I didn't. It's a long one lane return road and I don't have tow vehicle. I guess I will ask for someone to pull me back.

Or figure out your leanest cylinder, bring another plug or two with you. Bring a glove, pull over pop the hood and pull one plug from each bank (the leanest one from each). Pop the new ones in and then start her up and drive off. Use the two you have to make tuning decisions on fuel and timing.... just a way to do it without a tow vehicle...

Sounds good. I didn't realize how pricey they were. I guess cheaper than an new engine though.

Looking at your jetting odds are its akittle rich. Reading the spark plugs is the best wy to tune the car. Having a wideband on the car helpes you dial it in faster and easier. A good wideband is a great investment. However a wideband gives you an over all air fuel. Reading the plugs tell you what each cylinder is doing.

I use a FJO wideband for street tuning customers cars.

I was trying to keep it on the safe side because of the new motor. I should have know better. My little 346 liked the 24N 12F for the 175 shot. I am going to put the 26N jets in it and leave the 14F in. I bet it picks up alot.
