8 might be on the edge for a 300 shot depending on timing.
we run an 11 for anything over 200 in my car just to be safe.

your talking 5hp from using a plug thats to cold to melting **** from one thats to hot.

I would use a 10 and gap 28-25 thou.

Not knowing everything about the motor its just an estimated guess.... 16* Make a 1/8th mile hit and check the plugs. My guess is you'll be able to add timing but that "should" be safe timing wise.

Whats the rest of the tun up look like?

agreed... an 8 is too hot and right on the edge for that much spray. I use 10's up to a 300 shot gapped at .025.... we just switched to 11's and we're gapping those at .025 as well for what is currently a 325 shot....

we'll use the same for up to about 400hp.... ATV definitely has good insight on the timing as well.... I don't know what your base timing is but 16 is pretty safe.... at 325 we're at like 11 degrees...super safe.. base 32

I have heard 6* per 100 shot for super safety.
