175-200hp jets for NOS plate kit
Im wanting to up the shot on my plate kit (NOS #05168)to a 175 or a 200 shot, but i cant find the info anywhere if my kit can handle this. Im getting my car tuned on friday and i need this done ASAP. I think it should handle it without a problem, it has a 6an feed line, the big solenoids, and 4an feeding the plate. If my kit can support a shot that big does anyone know what jets i need for it and where they can be purchased?

If you dont mind me asking how did you find out the jet sizes?

I don't think you really want to spray more then 200 thru a behind the TB plate like the nos one anyway (I have the same 90mm kit on my car)
For a referance, the jetting on the kit is rather rich, was on my car anyway (racetronix pump equipped, 118 nos torco fuel in the main tank)
I ran the 150 jetting which was 63/44 and it was way heavy on fuel. I went down to a 43, then a 42 and it was still rich. Went up to a 65 nitrous jet, and the plugs finally started to clean up.
With the 175 jetting, I'd run the 77 nitrous jet, but the fuel jet probably needs to be a 44 to start. With the 200 jetting (MAX I would use, and you need to check the plugs carefully to make sure it's distributing in the intake correctly) I would use the 82 nitrous jet, but would probably start of with a 47 fuel jet.
Definately raise the engagement rpm of the spray a few hundred rpm for each increment over 150 you go with too, to help prevent a backfire. I've seen a couple people backfire the intake trying to use one of these plates with a 200 shot, I think it's directly RPM related since they never changed the RPM the kit turned on at. I leave off my transbrake @ WOT, which is about 4000 rpm with my converter. I'd be o.k. with 200 and 4000 rpm, but not much less then that.

Thanks man, thats the stuff i need to know, ill probably just go with a 175shot.
my 150 jets recomended with my kit are 63n & 38f which would probably relate to your richness, seems they leaned it out in my kit, or possibly because you have the 90mm kit?

Not sure, the kit I bought was the corvette kit, and I just used some other parts to get the switch setup on the TB.
63/38 sounds about right, I am at 65/42 right now and it's still heavy on fuel, I think 65/40 would be about right, just never got that far with the jets. A 67/42 would probably work good too.
I think, from my exp with playing around with the kit I'd start off about 11 jet sizes smaller on the fuel then you are with the nitrous, regardless the nitrous jet. That should, get you in a relativly close range. Plate won't flow any more then 200 worth from what I was told, I remember someone was gonig to flow the plate and weigh a bottle, see how much it would actually allow to move with no jet in the nitrous side at all, I don't recall if it ever was done or not. That would really tell ya what it's capable of.
But, like I said, any more then 175 and I'd be a little leary about the factory style intake distributing correctly. These plates, are good for little hits, street cars, or a leaving stage for a race car that's also got a fogger setup.
