Default 2 degrees timing taken out....what shot?

Ok i have a basic bolt on 99' Trans Am.... I have a NX wet kit, window switch, WOT switch, and TR6 plugs...My buddy took out 2 degrees a while ago with HP Tuners and I can easily have access to this program. So what size shot can I run and be pretty safe with the 2*?? 50-75hp Shot? Would like to do 100 shot but afraid that is too much... Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks

the rule of thumb is 1* for every 50HP shot. but you'll have guys on here tell you that they have been running 100 shot "for Years", with No Timing being pulled. It all comes down to what YOU feel comfortable doing. Me, i'm spraying 100 shot with 3* pulled, with TPS switch, Window switch, and AFR cut off and running a 255lph fuel pump. but I try to play it safe bc i cant afford to build a motor right now. but that's me. But I dont see a problem with spraying a 100 with 2*.

Total timing is what matters. Someone could have a total of 18 degrees of timing on the motor, and spray a 200 shot with no retard, whereas someone could have a total of 28 degrees on the motor and retard it 4 degrees on a 100 shot.

You need to figure out what your peak wot timing is and go from there.

^^^ Best way to get it right.

2 degrees is plenty for 100 and could probably run 125 and 150 with no problems. IF you want a buffer run high octane fuel. Either premium if you run regular or run cam II (104 I think) and you will be great for 150 with your timing.

no no no......start at 2 deg. per 50 hp.

make a pull or pass and read your plugs! period.

then play with timing.
